Set up your accelerator.
Use accel_setup to configure the database connection, TLS, CDC and acceleration from your terminal.
Before you begin
- EngineGrids Accelerator packages and an authorized Linux or SSH account
- Your database endpoint, application credentials and CDC prerequisites
- Network access and TLS certificates for your deployment
Install the packages
Install enginegrids-accelerator and its matching utilities and connector packages from your EngineGrids software repository. Debian 12, Ubuntu 24.04 and Enterprise Linux 9 packages are available for x86-64 and ARM64. For Db2 acceleration, arrange the SDK-enabled build and licensed IBM runtime with EngineGrids.
Open guided setup
On a packaged server, run setup as the enginegrids service account. Use arrow keys and Enter to choose options, Escape to cancel, and the final Save or Discard action to finish. A terminal of at least 60 columns by 24 rows supports the full-screen interface.
sudo -u enginegrids accel_setupDatabase connection
Select MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database or IBM Db2. Enter the database host and native port, then choose the listener address and port applications will use.
Security
Configure application-facing, database-facing and CDC TLS independently. Place certificates and private keys where the service account can read them. For remote administration, use your existing SSH account and verified host key.
Accounts and CDC
Applications use their existing database credentials. Create the engine-specific CDC account and replication facilities separately before setup. Enter the CDC host and credentials in the guided terminal; secrets use masked entry. Setup saves configuration but does not create database accounts or replication facilities.
